Tech Fix March 27 News: Recently, a Meituan rider posted a video claiming that he accepted a large order worth more than 700 yuan. But what he received in hand was only 3 yuan, while the customer paid more than 50 yuan, all of which was deducted by the platform.

The news sparked heated discussion among netizens. Today, Meituan’s official account officially issued a refutation, saying: It’s fake.

To verify the truth, Meituan conducted a line-by-line, thorough review of each key piece of information mentioned by the blogger:

Regarding the “large order worth more than 700 yuan”: According to the investigation, this rider has not recently had any order with a total value of more than 700 yuan, nor any other order worth several hundred yuan.

Regarding “the customer gave 50 yuan”: During the rider’s delivery runs, any additional voluntary payments from the customer (tips or gratuities) are 100% fully settled to the rider who completes the delivery. Meituan reviewed all the tip records of this rider. In the most recent five entries, the amounts were 0.5 yuan, 1 yuan, 2 yuan, 3 yuan, and 5 yuan respectively. Not only are there no amounts around 50 yuan, but these tips have also been received in full (100%) in all cases.

Later, the blogger also said that the 50 yuan was the “delivery fee”: Meituan further verified the delivery fee income of this rider from all high-value orders since this year. The amounts all fall between 14.5 yuan and 57.2 yuan, and there is likewise no situation where the rider only received 3 yuan.

Fake order, fake amount, fake income—every disputed key detail in the video, upon verification, cannot be substantiated.

Therefore, the order described by the blogger does not exist in the first place.

Regarding the blogger’s slanderous fabrication, Meituan has reported it to the relevant authorities and will take further measures in accordance with the rules and the law.

Meituan says it firmly opposes any conduct that harms the rider community and the platform ecosystem in pursuit of traffic.
