PANews, September 2 - According to CoinDesk, the Bitcoin token protocol BRC20 has taken a step towards implementing Ethereum-style smart contracts. According to an announcement released on Monday, starting from Bitcoin block 912,690, this Bitcoin token protocol has integrated the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) into its core logic. This upgrade is referred to as BRC2.0, developed jointly by Best in Slot, the developer of the Ordinals protocol, and Domo, the anonymous founder of BRC20. Best in Slot CEO Eril Binari Ezerel stated that previous meta-protocols like Ordinals relied on a "calculator-style" indexer, but with the integration of EVM, BRC20 will have Turing Completeness. Domo further mentioned that the ultimate goal is to merge the two gold standards: Bitcoin as the most decentralized and secure network, and EVM as the most mature virtual machine, allowing users to experience Ethereum's composability and programmability, while enjoying Bitcoin-level security.
