The latest data shows that 498,048 ETH has been deposited in the Ethereum 2.0 staking contract, achieving a completion rate of 96%. This number is quite close to the minimum requirement of 524,288 ETH needed to launch the Ethereum 2.0 Genesis Block.
Previously, according to the information from the Ethereum 2.0 GitHub code files, the expected release date of Ethereum 2.0 is December 1, 2020.
