CME Group’s April encryption derivatives trading volume surged by 129%, with an average daily trading volume (ADV) reaching 183,000 contracts, totaling a contract size equivalent to $8.9 billion. Ethereum futures led the rise, with ADV increasing by 239% to 14,000 contracts, while micro Ethereum futures grew by 165% to 63,000 contracts, and micro Bitcoin futures rose by 115% to 78,000 contracts. CME Bitcoin and Ethereum futures contracts correspond to 5 BTC and 50 ETH respectively, with micro contracts at 0.1 units.
