Metaplanet made the largest Bitcoin purchase to date.

The Japan-based technology company Metaplanet has announced a new Bitcoin purchase. The firm acquired 5149 BTC, increasing its total Bitcoin holdings to 25,555. With this purchase, Metaplanet rose to the 5th position among companies holding the most Bitcoin.

They made the biggest purchase

Metaplanet paid a total of 632 million dollars for purchases. The company's CEO Simon Gerovich stated that the average purchase was 116.724 million dollars. This purchase also became the largest amount the company has paid for Bitcoin purchases to date.

The Tokyo-based company has spent a total of $2.71 billion on Bitcoin purchases so far. The average total is at the level of $106,065.

Currently, the company with the most Bitcoin in the world is Strategy with 638,985 BTC. In second place is Marathon Digital with 52,477 BTC, in third place is XXI with 43,500 BTC, and in fourth place is Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company with 30,021 BTC.

Metaplanet usually announces its acquisitions on Mondays, just like the Strategy company.

On the other hand, Bitcoin started the day on Monday with declines. The largest cryptocurrency fell below 112 thousand dollars.
