After a hacker attack on Nobitex valued at $100 million, Iran has ordered a curfew for crypto assets exchanges.

Gate News bot news, according to CoinTelegraph, after a $100 million attack by a pro-Israel hacker group on Nobitex, the Central Bank of Iran has imposed strict operating hours on its domestic Crypto Assets exchange.

Chainalysis cited reports in a blog post on Wednesday stating that the operating hours of domestic crypto assets exchanges in Iran are currently limited to between 10 AM and 8 PM.

Andrew Fierman, the head of national security intelligence at Chainalysis, stated that the curfew may be aimed at controlling any further attacks because "if the event does not occur at midnight, it is easier to classify."

According to the exchange, Nobitex was attacked by hackers on Wednesday morning.

He said: "Secondly, although the Iranian people use crypto assets exchanges for cross-border transactions, the Iranian regime may want to impose more control over its citizens' transactions."

"This is especially true during times of heightened geopolitical tensions and the potential capital flight from Iran."

The Central Bank of Iran had previously imposed restrictions on cryptocurrency exchanges. In December last year, the Central Bank ordered the temporary closure of all cryptocurrency exchanges to prevent the exchange of its national currency, the Rial, and further devaluation.

On June 13, Israel launched multiple attacks inside Iran. Since then, the two countries have been in a state of mutual attacks.
