JINSHI DATA, MAY 19, ACCORDING TO THE AXIOS WEBSITE, A SENIOR U.S. OFFICIAL SAID THAT U.S. VICE PRESIDENT VANCE HAD CONSIDERED GOING TO ISRAEL ON TUESDAY, BUT HE DECIDED NOT TO GO DUE TO THE RECENT EXPANSION OF ISRAE'S MILITARY OPERATIONS IN GAZA. The U.S. official said Vance made the decision because he didn't want his visit to show that the Trump administration supported Israel's decision to launch a large-scale operation at a time when the U.S. was pushing for a ceasefire and hostage deal. While this is not an overt pressure on Israel, the official version says the cancellation of the visit was for "logistical" reasons. But his decision may reveal the U.S. view of Israel's current policy in Gaza.
