🇺🇸🇮🇷 Breaking: Trump Announces 5-Day Pause on Strikes Against Iranian Energy Facilities, Says "US-Iran Conducting Productive Dialogue"

Trump just posted on Truth Social stating that the United States and Iran have conducted "very good and productive dialogue" over the past two days. He has instructed the Department of Defense to suspend all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for 5 days—provided that ongoing talks prove successful.

Trump had previously demanded that Iran open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, or face "destruction" of its power plants. Now, just as the deadline has passed, he suddenly signals de-escalation.

However, Iran quickly denied this: There is no direct communication or mediated communication with the United States.

Meanwhile, Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan are acting as intermediaries to relay messages and attempt to mediate between the US and Iran. However, Iran's armed forces previously issued a clear warning: if power plants are attacked, they will completely close the Strait of Hormuz.

Market reaction: Following Trump's statement, international oil prices plummeted over 14% at one point, with Brent crude falling below $96.

A 5-day window—heading toward de-escalation or the calm before the storm?
