This rebranding move is really absurd. Token burning is just treating the symptom, not the disease. Ethereum upgraded itself—who needs pressure relief from you anyway?
POL is now stuck in the middle. Layer2s are all tangled up in competition, and its position is getting increasingly awkward.
It might work for short-term retail extraction, but long-term holding? I don't see any prospects.
There are too many variables in this track. You really need to keep your wits about you.
Honestly, the MATIC era still had some appeal. After the rebrand, it's pure hype.
Token burning is such an old playbook—the market is already immune to it.
Better to focus on ecosystem development. How are you supposed to attract developers just by burning coins?

Changing the name won't change destiny, and burning tokens is just the last desperate struggle before harvesting investors.
Polygon had its glory days too, but now there are tons of competitors, so a comeback would be a miracle.
Short-term hype is hype, but long-term it still comes down to technology and ecosystem—both of which are offline now.
Don't just listen to the burn data; what matters is whether the ecosystem still has people building on it.
If you really want to participate, you can, but be prepared to lose—not every L2 survives in the end.

Name change fiasco exemplar. Burning tokens to stop the bleeding? Laughable. Layer2 is already in a race to the bottom.
---
Matic to POL is like thinking a name change can change fate, but it really did change things... just changed them downward.
---
Token burning playbook is worn out. The real problem is ETH itself keeps iterating, so why should POL just sit back and count money?
---
There are short-term trading opportunities, but anyone who goes all in better be ready to lose their shirt.
---
Honestly, POL's space is already squeezed out. This round might really just come down to who picks up the hot potato last.
